Beginning in January 2020 the Canton Public Library will purchase?e-audiobooks on cloudLibrary instead of OverDrive. Older e-audiobooks will remain on OverDrive, but cloudLibrary is now the place for new e-audiobooks.

This move to cloudLibrary allows us to join the Michigan cloudLink group--which means you will have access to available e-book and e-audiobooks from cloudLink libraries across the state, and you will have more choices to listen to and read.

As part of Electrify Your Winter, we?have five new?Experience To Go Kits. These start-up kits are filled with fun tools, books, music and more to drive away your winter blues. We created a variety of kits to help you jump-start that New Year's resolution, enjoy a family night or simply have a calmer, sunnier week.

From January 12?until the end of April, we have the following kits:

  • Cabin Fever: This kit offers a variety of activities for both quiet contemplation and rowdy socialization, including a foam axe-throwing?game, a jigsaw puzzle, crossword puzzles, house-themed coloring sheets with markers, and a deck of cards.
  • Relax and Rejuvenate: Winter can be stressful on your mind and body.?This kit is here to bring some relaxation and rejuvenation into your week. Use?the light therapy lamp to chase away the blues on a sunless day. If you are a light sleeper, try the?white noise machine!
  • Sing It!:?The Sing It!?kit has nearly everything you need for a fun night of karaoke or lip-sync?battles in your own home. It includes a Bluetooth karaoke microphone, music, lyrics, props, and more.
  • Snow Day: The Snow Day kit will help you enjoy the winter weather both outside and in. Highlights of this box include a great snow themed book and a do-it-yourself snowman.
  • Spark Your Year: Dream, create and plan to live your best life with this kit. Bullet journaling tools and inspiration from our Spark Sheets will help you reflect on the year past and create?a vision for 2020.

STEAM Junior

MIssmatched letters representing science, technology, art, and math to spell the acronym STEAM

Kids aged 6-7 who are interested in science, technology, engineering, art,?and math are first?introduced to a topic and supporting ideas behind it. After learning about the?topic, participants will engage in activities that demonstrate principles and bring?concepts to life.

Please note: participants must arrive on time, latecomers may not be admitted.?

Registration for the Feb. 27 program?begins?on January?23rd.?

The trivia questions and discussion themes for?this month will come from the book?Click Here to Start?by Denis?Markell?. Trivia winners will get a chance to pick out a prize to take home including their own copy of next month's book! For kids aged 10 to 13.
